Mandatory insurance of liability of owners, i.e. users of vessel or motor yacht
This type of insurance must be concluded by the owner of a boat or a yacht whose engine power exceeds 15 kW. Contract on the mandatory liability insurance is concluded for a period of one year for damage that might be caused by the use of boats or yachts to third parties due death, bodily injury or distortion of health. People who are on the boat or on the yacht which caused the damage are not considered as third parties, as well as people who are on another boat, yacht, ship or other vessel. In other words, the insurance is provided for the liability of the owner or user of a boat or a motor yacht for death or bodily injury to persons who may find themselves in the sea, and these are usually the bathers. Limit of liability per damage is defined on the level of the limit stipulated by the Law on compulsory insurance in traffic to the amount of kuna 3,500,000.00 per damage.
